About Me
Hello! I'm Amanda Liebig, an educator, wife, and mom who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students, families, and fellow educators.
I have spent the past 10 years in education, primarily working in special education at both the elementary and high school levels. Throughout my career, I've also had the opportunity to teach a year in general education and take on several leadership responsibilities. I have served as a special education department head, mentored and trained fellow educators, and developed and led professional development on special education procedures, legal requirements, and instructional practices. I have also served as an acting principal during my building administrator's absence, gaining firsthand experience managing student behavior, addressing staff and parent concerns, making building-level decisions, and navigating the day-to-day responsibilities of school administration.
Through my administrative internship, I have continued expanding my leadership experience by working alongside building and district administrators, participating in school safety discussions, examining school improvement practices, and learning more about personnel management, budgeting, and building operations. These experiences have helped me better understand the complexities of school leadership and reinforced my belief that effective leaders must be approachable, consistent, willing to make difficult decisions, and committed to building positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Special Education (K-12) and General Education (1-6), a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, and an Educational Specialist degree in Elementary Mathematics. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, with a focus on educational leadership.
My long-term career goal is to transition into educational leadership, beginning as a building principal and eventually moving into the role of Director of Special Education. I hope to use my experiences in both general and special education to support teachers, advocate for students, strengthen school communities, and ensure that students with disabilities receive the opportunities and resources they need to succeed.
Outside of education, my favorite roles are being a wife and a mom. My husband, Michael, is a firefighter/paramedic, and together we have two young daughters, Emelia and Keira. My faith and family are my greatest source of happiness and motivation. Balancing motherhood, marriage, teaching, and graduate school certainly keeps life busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
As I continue growing both personally and professionally, my goal remains the same: to make sure that students and staff feel valued.
